OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has issued a traffic advisory to alert motorists it will be closing ramps overnight along Interstate 75 (I-75) in Ocala for about two weeks.

FDOT says the nightly ramp closures along I-75 will be at the U.S. Highway 27 and State Road (SR) 40 interchanges.

Closures will be between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. from March 17 through March 28.

FDOT says the closures are so crews can do maintenance repairs to the interchange ramps.

“Workers will be starting with the U.S. 27 interchange before moving down to the SR 40 interchange,” said FDOT in a news release. “Only one ramp will be closed at a time.”

Here are the specifics:

  • Southbound I-75 off ramp to U.S. 27
  • U.S. 27 on ramp to southbound I-75
  • All four ramps at the SR 40 interchange

The state says message board signs will advise motorists of the closures and detours.

FDOT urges you to use caution, slow down, avoid distractions, when driving in these work zones.

The transportation agency says all schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
