OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Something big is on the horizon for the Ocala Civic Theatre. As the local arts institution celebrates its 75th anniversary today, it’s preparing to unveil an exciting change- one that will shape its future while honoring its rich history.
Executive Director Greg Thompson hinted at the upcoming transformation, emphasizing that it’s all about strengthening the theater’s connection with the community.

“Civic is our middle name, and this change reinforces that we are here for the community,” Thompson said. “We want to continue growing, evolving, and making theater accessible to everyone.”
While details remain under wraps, Thompson reassured that the shift is designed to enhance the theater’s identity and visibility while staying true to its mission.

“This is about evolution, not reinvention,” he said. “We’re still the same theater people love—we’re just making it easier for them to find us, support us, and be part of our story.”
