ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) says they arrested a man following a shooting early Thursday morning.
The sheriff’s office shared in a Facebook post that in the early morning hours of December 14, deputies responded to Palms of Archer mobile home community located at 7117 Southwest Archer Road after receiving reports of a shooting. They say when they arrived at the scene, they provided medical attention to a shooting.
Deputies say while they were at the scene, they got information leading them to believe 29-year-old DeQuante Perry was the person responsible for the shooting.
They say while they were investigating, Perry returned to the scene.
He was then arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon with an altered serial number, and possession of a weapon by convicted felon.

Perry is currently being held at the Alachua County Jail on no bond and will have his first court appearance Friday.
Deputies say the shooting victim is expected to survive his injuries.
