MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) crew never made it to a call to help a stroke patient on Thursday.
MCFR says an ambulance from Marion Oaks Station #24 was involved in a traffic accident while on the way to the scene.
MCFR says the driver of the pickup had to be extricated from the truck. MCFR says the driver was declared a trauma alert and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. You can see from the photos MCFR posted on its Facebook page that driver’s side of the truck took the brunt of the impact.
MCFR says the crew onboard the ambulance was evaluated for injuries on the scene and refused further treatment.
