OCALA. FL (352today.com) – On Sunday night around 9:55 p.m., emergency teams from Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) and Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) were sent to a house fire in the 3200 block of NE 35th Place. The first 911 call indicated that a home being built was on fire with lots of smoke.

At 10:01 p.m., officials reported that MCFR Anthony Station #1 arrived to find the building about 50% engulfed in flames. The company officer noted major damage at the back of the structure, raising concerns about a possible collapse. Extra units from MCFR Rolling Greens Station #28, Golden Ocala Station #20, Sparr Station #19, and Ocala Fire Rescue Engine #3 and Engine #5 were sent to help put out the fire.

Firefighters set up hoses and used a defensive approach to fight the fire. They managed to control the flames by 10:12 p.m. There were no reported injuries at the site.

Fire officials are still investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
