OCALA, FL (352today.com) – This weekend may be the PURRR-fect time to adopt a pet.

Marion County Animal Services (MCAS) is waiving adoption fees this month with a donation of cat supplies; kitten food, litter, kitten milk replacer, etc.

As of this publication, MCAS has 26 cats for adoption at the shelter.

The adoption fee is $20 without a donation.

One of this week’s featured adoptable pets is an 8-year-old cat who is part of the county’s Working Whiskers program. Cats in this program don’t necessarily like to be handled but are good around people. The county adopts them out for FREE to individuals and businesses for rodent control.

This weekend, the Ocala Preserve is hosting a Spring Fashion Show fundraiser for MCAS. An auction, fashion show, food, and dog adoptions.

The event is Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. and is open to the public, but you do need a ticket which costs $30. The address for the event is 3332 NW 55th Ave in Ocala.
