MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Board of Commissioners officially proclaimed the Southeastern Youth Fair as the premier not-for-profit, all-youth fair for 4-H and FFA students in the county. Originally established in 1978 as an expansion of the Southeastern Youth Steer Show and Sale, the fair has grown into a comprehensive showcase of youth achievement across agriculture and related industries.
The fair provides young people with valuable opportunities for competition, exhibition, and education, promoting self-esteem, personal growth, and a deeper understanding of the importance of agriculture in Marion County. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone event for fostering leadership, teamwork, and community engagement among the next generation of farmers, agricultural professionals, and civic leaders.
The 2026 Southeastern Youth Fair, celebrating its 86th anniversary, will take place Feb. 19-28 with this year’s theme: “Sew it, Grow it, Show it.” The event continues to highlight excellence in agriculture, creative skills, and youth development, while providing a platform for students to demonstrate their talents and hard work.
“The Southeastern Youth Fair is an incredible opportunity for our young people to learn, grow, and showcase their talents,” said County Commission Chairman Carl Zalak, III. “We are proud to recognize their achievements and support programs that inspire the next generation of leaders in agriculture and our community.”
The county commission extended its thanks to the agencies, sponsors, volunteers, and participants who make the Fair possible each year, ensuring Marion County’s youth have the support and recognition they deserve.
