MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com)—Today, Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) is celebrating the life of a former paramedic on the second anniversary of his passing.

MCFR Firefighter Paramedic Tripp Wooten passed away two years ago today.

Wooten was a 14-year veteran firefighter who joined MCFR on December 15, 2006, until his death on January 9, 2023.

“Tripp served Marion County Fire Rescue with unwavering dedication, compassion, and bravery,” writes MCFR in a Facebook post. “His commitment to saving lives and helping others left an indelible mark on our department and community.”

MCFR says to remember Wooten not only as the hero, but as a kind and caring friend and colleague.

“Our thoughts remain with Tripp’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory lives on in the lives he touched and the service he inspired. Gone but never forgotten,” MCFR shared in its post.

Many in the post’s comments section offered condolences, and some of Wooten’s co-workers shared their memorable experiences with him.

“It was always a pleasure running calls with Trip- he always had a smile! And found something to laugh about,” one commenter shares.

Another commenter referred to Wooten as “Scootin Wootin,” writing, “I always loved working with Tripp.”
