OCALA, FL (352today.com) – That’s one life down, eight more to go.

The Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) team played a role in rescuing a cat that was stranded high in a tree.

The cat had gotten himself tangled in a bit of Spanish Moss and had found sanctuary on top of a tree for five days.

With the help of MCFR and Marion County Animal Services (MCAS), the orange and white tabby was able to find safety on the ground.

MCAS has named the cat Jacob after Jacob May, the MCFR firefighter who climbed up and saved him.

Following a veterinary visit, Jacob is now available for adoption at MCAS.
