MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) crews rescued a woman trapped in a mobile house fire early Thursday morning.
MCFR crews received reports around 4 a.m. of a house on fire and a woman trapped in her bedroom.
According to MCFR, the victim was having trouble breathing and eventually moved into her bathroom.
When crews arrived at the scene, they immediately put out the fire. Within ten minutes, rescue crews were able to remove the victim from her home.
“We train for these exact moments. Crews on scene were well prepared and executed this rescue flawlessly,” said Marion County Fire Chief James Banta.
The victim was transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert, according to MCFR.
“Because of them, the patient has another chance at life,” said Banta.
MCFR is still investigating the cause of the fire. No firefighters were injured.
