OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County residents could see more efficient government services and better use of their tax dollars thanks to a new resolution passed by the Board of County Commissioners.

On Tuesday, commissioners unanimously backed a statewide initiative led by Governor Ron DeSantis aimed at improving government operations and cutting wasteful spending. The resolution supports Executive Order 2025-44, which calls for counties across Florida to work with the newly formed Department of Governmental Efficiency (EOG DOGE).

Locally, this means a push toward eliminating outdated programs, streamlining operations, and ensuring public funds are used responsibly.

โ€œThis resolution reflects Marion Countyโ€™s continued dedication to transparency and our boardโ€™s commitment to fiscal responsibility,โ€ said Commission Chairman Kathy Bryant. โ€œWe stand with the State of Florida in ensuring that local governments operate efficiently and in the best interest of our taxpayers.โ€

As part of the effort, Marion County will grant the state team access to records and operations for review, while working to adopt recommended reforms that could improve day-to-day services like permitting, infrastructure, and community programs.
