OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Public Schools will officially break ground on its newest high school, known as New High School “CCC,” on Monday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m.
The event will be held at 1350 SW 165 St. in Ocala, marking a milestone for the growing community in Southwest Marion County.
The first public high school to be built in the county since 2003, this modern facility is designed to accommodate a growing student population. The school will feature three two-story building complexes with a third story framed for future expansion.
Key highlights include:
- A performing arts auditorium seating 800.
- A 1,332-seat gymnasium and a 2,000-seat athletic stadium.
- A full-service cafeteria seating 858, both indoors and outdoors.
- 61 classrooms, 20 labs, and various athletic fields.
The $154 million project, funded by borrowed School Board funds, is set to open in August 2026 with a capacity of 2,011 students, expandable to 2,711.
New High School “CCC” will receive an official name prior to opening, joining two new elementary schools already under construction and set to open in August.
