MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Board of County Commissioners recently celebrated the success of a collaborative, multi-agency effort to combat littering within the community.

This initiative, which involved state and local agencies, uncovered and addressed a series of littering incidents in Marion Oaks, resulting in the removal of more than 1,200 pounds of trash from multiple locations.

Marion County Code Enforcement officers, Solid Waste litter specialists, and sheriff’s deputies worked diligently to investigate the littering cases. These teams sifted through the abandoned trash, meticulously cleaning the affected sites while gathering evidence. Their thorough efforts culminated in the arrest of a single individual responsible for the environmental violations.

This collective effort has a lasting impact on our community every day.”

The initiative serves as a testament to the power of collaboration and underscores the importance of community involvement in preserving Marion County’s natural beauty.
