MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A collision between a Marion County Public School bus and a truck caused the bus to plow into the side of a house.

The accident happened Wednesday morning around 8:00 at the intersection of Marion Oaks Trail and SW 31st Avenue Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was heading southbound on SW 31st Avenue Road approaching the stop sign at Marion Oaks Trail.

At the same time, a Marion County school bus was heading westbound on Marion Oaks Trail approaching SW 31st
Avenue Road.

According to report, the truck driver failed to stop for the stop sign.

As a result, troopers say the front of the truck collided with the right side of the bus.

The impact caused the truck driver to veer off, crashing through a fence.

The bus, on the other hand, smashed into the side of a home located at 12978 SW 31st Avenue Road

FHP identified the driver of the truck as a 25-year-old woman and the bus driver as a 63-year-old woman. Both women are from Ocala. Troopers say both drivers escaped the wreck with only minor injuries.

Marion County confirmed that no children were aboard the bus at the time of the accident.
