MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A 62-year-old man was arrested Friday by Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Henrik Osthed on six counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child under 12 and one count of molestation of a child over 12, authorities said.

Geraldo Rivera-Serrano was detained as he arrived at his home at 5026 SW 128th St. in Ocala, following an investigation sparked by reports on Feb. 6, 2025, from two juvenile victims who disclosed long-term sexual abuse. The victims detailed incidents where Rivera-Serrano isolated them and molested them over and under their clothing, claiming he was playing “games” or “tickling” them, according to MCSO.

Detective Osthed learned Rivera-Serrano had been vacationing in Puerto Rico during the investigation. When confronted, he admitted to the acts but denied intent to harm, employing victim-blaming tactics, MCSO said. He cut his trip short, intending to speak with the victims, but was arrested upon return. Rivera-Serrano refused to speak further without an attorney.

He is being held without bond at Marion County Jail. Authorities suspect additional victims and urge anyone with information to contact Detective Osthed at (352) 351-4710 as the investigation continues.
