MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MSCO) has released new information in the case of a woman who has been missing more than a year.

They hope sharing the new details may prompt someone else to come forward with info that can help them find 26-year-old Sara Gail Ebersole or figure out what happened to her.

Person of Interest
Detectives now say they’ve developed 28-year-old Tyrone Morman of Micanopy as a person of interest. But, they say he will no longer speak with investigators.

The Investigation
Deputies say on March 2, 2023, Sara was given a ride from a convenience store to a residence located at 18080 North U.S. Highway 441, in Reddick.

They say she was dropped off there, along with James Robinson, who lives at that address. Authorities say Sara hung out that night with Robinson and two others – James Schaller and Teesha McDermitt, a couple who resided in the other half of the subdivided residence.

New Leads
Detectives say they have developed numerous new leads, including information that links Morman to Sara.

“Sometime after midnight, Sara left that residence with Tyrone Morman,” MCSO shared in a Facebook post.

Detectives say Morman initially stated that he never had any contact with Sara and was not in town during her disappearance.

The sheriff’s office says Morman also lied to deputies when questioned about his cell phone. Based on information from witnesses, detectives obtained a search warrant for Morman’s phone.

“During a search of Morman’s phone, detectives located information which suggests Morman and Sara were at a 24-hour convenience store in the northwest part of Marion County in the early morning hours of March 3, 2023,” said the sheriff’s office.

Morman Arrested
On December 20, 2023, deputies arrested Morman on charges of giving law enforcement false information. He was released the next day on a $10,000 bond.

“We are hoping that there are people in this community who may know things that could help us find out what happened to Sara. If you know anything that might help us find her – even if it seems unimportant – please call and let us know. It may be the piece of the puzzle we need.”
