OCALA, FL. (352 Today) A homicide investigation is underway after a man was fatally stabbed Monday night in northwest Ocala, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 8:45 p.m. to a reported stabbing in the 4000 block of W Highway 326. Upon arrival, they found 61-year-old William Kennedy III lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. Deputies rendered aid at the scene until Marion County Fire Rescue arrived and transported Kennedy to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation and actively searching for a suspect. Detectives believe the incident was isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Officials have not released details about a potential motive or suspect description. The investigation remains active, and additional updates are expected as new information becomes available.
