MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Freeze Watch through its Alert Marion system for the North Central Florida region. The Freeze Watch is in effect from Monday, Dec. 29 through 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025.

What to know

From the National Weather Service:

  • Cold weather will be moving into the region late Monday night into early Tuesday Morning with lows in the mid-30s with Tuesday daytime highs in the upper 50s.
  • Tuesday night temperatures will be in the low 30s with Wednesday daytime highs in the upper 50s.
  • Wednesday night temperatures will be in the mid-30s with Thursday daytime highs warming back up to the mid-60s.
  • Thursday night temperatures will be in the low 40s with Friday daytime highs warming up to the low 70s.

“The Salvation Army will have sheltering accommodations in place for the upcoming cold weather for those that need to seek refuge,” read an announcement. “Due to lower temperatures the Salvation Army is prepared for a possible influx of individuals seeking shelter. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office–Division of Emergency Management will be working with the Salvation Army and our other community partners to ensure the safety and well-being of those that require the need for cold weather sheltering.”

The Salvation Army–Center of Hope is located at 320 NW 1st Ave. in Ocala. A hot dinner will be served at 5 p.m., and check-in is at 6 p.m.
