OCALA, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE 12/9: Marion County Utilities has lifted the boil water notice for three condo complexes along Midway Drive. The utility says the water is safe to drink following the satisfactory completion of a bacteriological survey.

ORIGINAL 12/7: People who live in communities along Midway Drive are under a temporary boil water order.

Marion County Utilities (MCU) has issued a precautionary boil water notice for the following customers:

  • Live Oak Village Condos
  • Twin Lakes Village East Condos
  • Twin Lake Village Condos

Customers are advised to bring water intended for consumption to a rapid boil for at least one minute until the notice is lifted. MCU says bottled water may be used for these purposes, which include drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth.

The county shared in a Facebook post that water used for laundry, bathing, and/or showering does not have to be boiled.

MCU says it will perform water testing as instructed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and will let customers know when the notice has been lifted.
