MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding and the community’s first public arts project, “Horse Fever,” with the launch of “Horse Fever: 25 Years of Creativity,” a special exhibition honoring the legacy of the beloved “Horse Fever” public arts project.

Additionally, a newly created “Horse Fever” sculpture by renowned artist Sharon Crute will debut at the opening reception for “Horse Fever: 25 Years of Creativity–A Showcase by Horse Fever Artists of Creativity and Community.” The reception will take place on Jan. 9, 2026, 5-7:30 p.m. at the Brick City Center for the Arts. The event is free and open to the public.

The commemorative horse, celebrating the lasting impact of “Horse Fever” on the community, will be raffled off by Marion Cultural Alliance as a fundraiser supporting MCA’s arts and cultural initiatives.

Information on the raffle and rules will be posted at mcaocala.org beginning Jan. 9, 2026.

In addition to the exhibition, MCA is planning immersive opportunities, including hands-on experiences that invite the public to participate in the creation of a tribute horse. The horse will symbolize strength, continuity and community–carrying the arts forward while honoring where they began.

This project is sponsored in part by the Ocala/Marion County Tourism and Convention Bureau.
