“It was eye-opening to hear what all Marion Senior Services does in the community,” Lewis said.  “From delivering meals to seniors and driving them to their doctor appointments to just having someone be a voice for them.”

Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership Director of Engagement Tom James served as the evening’s emcee.  Speakers included the Florida Director of the AARP, County Commissioner Michelle Stone, and Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn.

MSS has been providing supportive care services to elderly, disables, and disadvantaged residents of Marion County for 50 years with the support of the community.  It has honored our elders by providing resources to maintain their independence.

MSS started in 1973 with just $100 and three churches to provide 13 meals.  They are now an agency managing a $7.5 million budget with an array of services to empower older adults to live active, healthier lives.
