MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Just before 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) crews responded to an accident between a car and a school bus.

The wreck happened at the intersection of SE 150th Street and SE 36th Avenue which is also known as County Road 467.

 

MCFR says callers to 911 reported the driver of the car had rear-ended the school bus.

The bus had 27 students on board at the time. None were injured. The school bus driver was also fine.

First responders from Belleview Station #18 were the first on the scene and reported the driver of the car was entrapped. Firefighters had to remove the car doors to get the female driver out.

Emergency crews transported the woman to the hospital as a “trauma alert,” which indicates serious or potentially life-threatening injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol identified the car driver as a 63-year-old woman from Lady Lake.
