MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is actively searching for Jamie Eric Miller, wanted on charges of Scheme to Defraud, Fraudulent Use of Personal Identification Information Belonging to a Person Over 60, and Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony.
Miller, who served nearly nine years in a North Carolina prison for 18 counts of identity theft and three counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, was released in 2019. Authorities report that he has since resumed criminal activities, allegedly using a credit card obtained with a victim’s information to make purchases totaling over $21,000. These include cruises, firearms, and car maintenance services.
Detectives says they believe Miller may be hiding in the Dunnellon area, possibly with the assistance of a close family member. Sheriff Billy Woods issued a warning: “To that family member: I have no problem securing a room for you in my jail if you continue to help him evade justice.”
How You Can Help
The MCSO is asking the public to provide any information on Miller’s whereabouts. Tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Marion County by calling 352.368.STOP (7867) and referencing case number 24-39. Tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
