OCALA, FL (352today.com) – AVR Wellness Inc., a multi-state medical cannabis retailer, has launched a new indoor cultivation facility in the Ocala area.

AVR’s new 97,580 sq. ft. facility features nearly 50,000 sq. ft. of grow canopy, and will employ around 100 people across various jobs, including cultivation, operations and technical roles.

“We’re incredibly proud to open this state-of-the-art indoor cultivation facility in central Florida,” said George DeNardo, President of AYR Wellness in a press release. “This new facility, with our existing hybrid greenhouse site in Gainesville, allows AYR to offer patients the best of both worlds: premium, indoor-grown flower with top-shelf quality, and value-driven hybrid greenhouse flower. By listening to what patients want and expanding our suite of offerings, AYR is raising its standards for cannabis while ensuring AYR remains competitive in Florida’s evolving market.”

“Flower,” or the actual buds of the cannabis plant, account for 46 percent of medical marijuana sold in the state of Florida, as opposed to other means of consumption such as edibles and concentrates, according to a September report by, seriously, the Marijuana Herald. The Sunshine State’s medical marijuana market has so far surpassed $1 billion in sales in 2025.
