OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Martha has been patiently waiting at Marion County Animal Services (MCAS) for her big break since June, and we can’t figure out why.

This 3-year-old sweetheart has all the makings of a great addition to your family- she’s playful, loving, and gets along great with other pups. At just 35 pounds, she’s on the smaller side, making her a great fit for your home. She walks nicely on a leash and respects boundaries, which makes her an excellent match for families with kids or other animals.

Plus, she’s a dream to drive with, and would love you hop in your passenger seat on your next coffee run so she can grab a pup cup.

“I’m shocked she’s still here,” said Cassidy, who works with MCAS.

Martha is just one of more than 250 adoptable pets currently at the shelter. With kennel space running out, even short-term foster homes are a big help.

During the month of July, adoption fees are waived when you bring in school supplies or show a current annual parks pass in honor of National Parks & Recreation Month. Now could be the perfect time to open your home to a new furry friend!

If you’ve been thinking about adding to the family, Martha just might be your girl. You can meet her, or any of the other adoptable animals, at MCAS’s shelter located at 5701 SE 66th Street in Ocala. The shelter is open from 10 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday.
