OCALA, FL (352today.com) – If you’ve been waiting for the right time to support Marion County Animal Services (MCAS), then the end of this tumultuous week for the shelter is it.

After a great show out at the Ocala Pet Palooza on June 22 and 23, MCAS is facing one of the biggest challenges of kitten season: Feline Panleukopenia. This contagious virus affects cats of any age and can be quickly fatal. MCAS has currently suspended cat intakes and adoptions while they focus on the health and wellbeing of their felines.

In the meantime, MCAS is also preparing for this weekend’s Petco Love Mega Pet Adoption Weekend, happening from June 29 to June 30. This weekend is a push across North Central Florida shelters to find animals their forever homes, and for the shelter to end this week on a more pawsitive note.

Meet one of the many four-legged friends looking for their families while MCAS is open throughout the weekend, including special hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

On Saturday, June 29, the MCAS trailer will be set up at Maricamp Animal Hospital, located at 4485 SE 53rd Ave. in Ocala. Bring the family and pawty with shelter dogs, food trucks, and vendors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
