OCALA, FL (352today.com) — Visitors to Downtown Ocala’s First Friday Art Walk on May 2 will be among the first to experience Melodic Metamorphosis, a new immersive exhibit at Brick City Center for the Arts. Presented by Marion Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Philantho-Creatives (Laurie Zink, David Kellner, and Jessica Carter), the exhibit runs through May 20 and explores the transformative power of music, art, and literature.

Inspired by a century-old piano and the Japanese art of Kintsugi, organizer Laurie Zink says, “Art, like people, can become even more beautiful after transformation. Being able to give back through this exhibit brings that journey full circle for me.”

The opening day features two free public events. From 3–5 p.m., attendees can enjoy a VIP Fan Fav Reception with a champagne toast and chocolate tower while previewing the exhibit and voting for favorite pieces using “Fan Fav” ribbons, which raise funds for the Marion County Literacy Council and Arts in Health Ocala Metro.

From 5–7 p.m., the evening reception will include spoken word by Natasha Jean-Pierre, original works shared by Literacy Council students, and live piano performances by local musicians.
