OCALA, FL. (352 Today)— The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Maria Gonzalez, 46, who was last seen on the evening of Friday, Aug. 15, in front of her residence at 4741 NW Gainesville Road in Ocala.
Gonzalez was last seen at approximately 10:30 p.m. wearing a black tank top, a blue skirt, and slippers. According to deputies, she does not drive, and it is unclear whether she left the area on foot or was picked up by someone.
Family members and authorities are increasingly concerned for Gonzalez’s safety. She is diagnosed with cancer and other mental health conditions and left home without her prescribed medications. Additionally, her cellphone has been disconnected, and her bank account has shown no activity since the date of her disappearance.
The sheriff’s office has not released any information suggesting foul play, but due to Gonzalez’s medical and mental health history, the case is being treated with urgency.
Authorities urge anyone who has seen Gonzalez or has information about her whereabouts to immediately contact law enforcement. Residents should call 911 or contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office directly with any tips that could assist in locating her.
