LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has arrested a man who they say stabbed two people and then beat two other people.

35-year-old Justin Bryant is behind bars in the Levy County Detention Center charged with three counts of attempted murder, one count of aggravated battery and burglary of a dwelling.

What happened

Deputies say they responded to the area of SE 132 Court in Morriston after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing on Thursday around 4:00 p.m.

Deputies found two people with multiple stab and slash wounds. According to LCSO, the victims told deputies Bryant had been to their home and borrowed their phone to make a call. They say they were able to escape and get to neighbors’ homes nearby.

Deputies then received a second report from a nearby home. Once on the scene, they say they found “two more individuals suffering from blunt force object wounds inflicted by weapons of opportunity.” The sheriff’s office says those victims also knew the attacker.

Deputies along with officers from the Williston Police Department found Bryant in some nearby woods and took him into custody.

Detectives say Bryant and two of the victims and had been “hanging out” earlier in the day.

The sheriff’s office says the four victims have been taken to nearby hospitals and are being treated for their injuries.

LCSO says the motive for these apparent random and violent attacks is still under investigation.

Tracing a crime spree

Detectives pieced together a spree of criminal activities. They say earlier Thursday, Bryant took a vehicle from someone he knew and drove that vehicle to a home in Levy County where he abandoned it and stole a truck.

From there, deputies say Bryant drove the truck to another home approximately one mile away and attempted to steal a side-by-side utility vehicle.

Investigators say this theft was unsuccessful and he apparently walked away.

LCSO says this was a large crime scene with eight separate locations that required extensive coordination between multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency services.
