A 50-year-old man from Maine lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a concrete curb before overturning on US 301 near CR 42.
MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) -The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Monday night on US 301 near County Road 42.
According to troopers, a 50-year-old man from Penobscot, ME, was traveling northbound in the left lane when he failed to maintain his lane, striking a concrete curb. The impact caused the motorcycle to lose control and overturn, coming to a stop in the center median.

Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist under a trauma alert to HCA Ocala Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
