OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Kids and adults can explore their creative side and gain art skills through new classes offered by the Appleton Museum of Art.

The classes, which are open to all skill levels, are held at the Appleton which is located at 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. in Ocala.

Enrollment for all classes is required and now open.

Here’s a list of the courses available.

Programs for adults

Wheel Throwing: Master the potter’s wheel in this six-week course starting September 28.

Painting Workshops:  Learn sunflower still-life painting with Lisa Russo on September 28 and October 5. Delve into abstract painting with Heather Dawn Batchelor on November 9 and 16.

Pints & Prints: This workshop will be held on September 21. It will teach you printmaking techniques while you consume craft beers and charcuterie.

Programs for children

Museum & Me Pre-K Program: This free program for children aged 2-5 will introduce them to art through interactive activities on the first Tuesday of each month.

Museum Happenings Homeschool Program: Designed for homeschooled students aged 6-9, this program combines gallery tours and artmaking sessions on select Tuesdays (September 24 and October 29).

Art Adventures: This project is looking for artists ages 5-7 who can explore their creativity in a three-week session starting October 5-19

Art Explorations-Florida Wildlife: This program is for kids aged 8-12 and is offered Wednesdays & Saturdays in September. It will dive into Florida’s wildlife through art.

Clay Explorations: This class will develop hand-building skills in the six-week workshop. Kids ages 8-12 are welcome. Lessons will be held on Wednesdays, October 2-November 6.

Wheel Throwing for Teens: In this class, teens can learn the art of wheel throwing in this dedicated six-week session starting September 28.
