OCALA, FL (352today.com) – You probably don’t pay too much attention to the image on your Florida fishing license. When you get your new hard card in the mail, you might want to take a closer look. It will feature artwork from some of Florida’s most talented young artists.

Winning entries from this year’s Florida Fish Art Contest will grace the front of fishing licenses for all anglers to see.

The two winners of the contest are Grace Wang’s depiction of a freshwater Florida bass and Emma Nemes’ drawing of a snook for the saltwater card.

Both young lady’s artwork was submitted in the grades 7-9 category.

“We are excited to feature the incredible artwork of Florida’s youth on the new fishing license designs,” said Roger Young, Executive Director of the Florida Fishing and Wildlife Commission (FWC). “This initiative celebrates the creativity of the next generation of anglers and gives everyone the opportunity to proudly support conservation and our world-renowned fisheries by purchasing a license.”

The work of these two talented artists was selected from a pool of hundreds of student entries.

Their designs will appear on the credit card style licenses which you can purchase through the Go Outdoors Florida.

While Wang and Nemes are the winners who will have their pieces plastered on the front of fishing licenses, many other emerging artists were finalists.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade submitted their artwork earlier this year for the chance to win state and national honors.

In the 352, Sebastian Romo, a student from Sumter County, had his design selected as the winner of the 4-6 grade level division for saltwater fish entry.
