OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Osceola Middle School is receiving a brand-new gymnasium after the previous one was found to be structurally compromised, according to Kevin Christian, Director of Public Relations for Marion County Public Schools. The new structure is now under construction on campus.
In addition to the gym project, Osceola’s Building 1, once the original Ocala High School, is undergoing significant renovations. “This summer, workers are sealing the outer perimeter to prevent water intrusion, and inside, they’re removing and cleaning ductwork, replacing flooring, and updating cabinetry,” Christian said. The upgrades are expected to be completed before the new school year begins in August.

At Eighth Street Elementary, no major construction is currently underway. “Other than some painting and minor renovations at the entrances, there’s no construction taking place at this time,” Christian confirmed.
