OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A proposed project that will bring more residential and commercial space to an active area in Ocala, is making its way through several review committees.
Freedom Commons, a 333.95-acre project, is expected to connect to Marion County utilities, including water and sewer systems. According to Michael Savage, Marion County’s director of building safety, the developer – Freedom Commons, LLC – will construct the roads, detention areas, and common spaces. These areas will eventually be maintained by a property owners’ association (POA) established by the developer.
Phase 7 of the project will have 9.8 acres dedicated to commercial use, with the remainder planned for residential development, Savage said.
The final number of residential units and developments that will tie into the project has not yet been determined. Savage noted that those details will be finalized later in the review process and may be re-evaluated if the project advances to the Marion County Commission for final approval.
