OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) is marking major milestones in local economic development, celebrating progress across business support, education, and workforce training.
First up is the one-year anniversary of the Business Impact Incubator in Silver Springs Shores. This initiative has provided free business consultations, coaching, and resource connections to local entrepreneurs in both English and Spanish. CEP Foundation Vice President Jessica Gilbert shared the goal of bringing this program to West Ocala and Marion Oaks to extend its impact.
Gilbert also announced an innovative new partnership between the College of Central Florida and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Through this collaboration, students at the college’s Vintage Farm Campus will have access to drones for real-world applications in agriculture, like crop monitoring and precision farming. This offers cutting-edge, hands-on experience that is roots in Ocala’s strengths.
Finally, Marion Technical College shared plans for a new 15,000-square-foot training center, expected to open in 2026. The facility with feature two new programs- Diesel Systems Technician and Aviation Mechanics (pending FAA approval). Once open, the center will serve up to 100 students annually, preparing them for high-demand technical careers, right here at home
