OCALA, FL (352today.com) North Central Florida added to its powerful thoroughbred legacy Oct. 16 in Lexington, KY at the Keeneland Sales Pavilion.
Four members of the local thoroughbred community were honored with accolades for their involvement in the thoroughbred industry at the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards presented by Godolphin USA.
Several individuals received honors, including Lauren Marks, who is the assistant director of sales at Ocala Breeders’ Sales; Christine Jones, the director of stallion services at Pleasant Acres Stallions; Steve Vargas, the broodmare manager at Bridlewood Farm; and Julianne Stowell from Niall Brennan Stables.
Marks received the Katherine McKee Administration Award from Keeneland. Jones was chosen for the Managerial Award by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Vargas was honored with the Dedication to Breeding Award from Hallway Feeds, and Stowell was recognized with the Newcomer Award from the New York Racing Association.
