OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Registration is now open for the Winter 2025 class term at the Academy at Ocala Civic Theatre (OCT).

Classes begin the week of January 6 and offer a wide range of opportunities for students of all ages, including after-school programs, homeschool classes, weekend workshops, and adult courses.

To better serve families, classes will be held at two locations this season: Ocala Civic Theatre and the newly added Academy West at Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place (1821 NW 21st Avenue).

Classes for ages 6-8 include Play Space: Creative Movement at OCT and Play Space: Act Now at Academy West. Students aged 9-12 can explore Theatre Unplugged or Act Up in homeschool or afterschool formats. Teens aged 13-17 can dive into Pivot Improv: Teen Edition or learn Stage Combat at Academy West. Adults (18+) can participate in Scene Study and Pivot Improv: Adult Edition.

This season’s performance opportunity, James and the Giant Peach, is open to ages 11-17. In partnership with the Marion County Literacy Council, this non-tuition-based production includes a pre-audition workshop on February 15, auditions on February 22-23, rehearsals from March 3 to April 10, and performances from April 11-13.

For older teens and adults, specialized Saturday workshops such as The Artist’s Image (January 25) and The Business of the Business (February 22) are available.
