OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala’s Brandon Caraway apparently wears a lot of hats—father, husband, graduate student, ministry leader, youth sports coach.
He’s also a Behavior Specialist for Marion County Schools.
Caraway also recently added another hat to that impressive rack—that of a Top 15 Finalist in online fundraising company Colossal’s “Super Dad” contest.
Colossal holds a bunch of these contests, which act as fundraising drives for various worthy nonprofits around the country by allowing voters to “buy” extra votes through donating to the represented cause. (You might remember an Ocala couple did well in another of Colossal’s benefit contests, “America’s Favorite Couple.”) For instance, those who vote in “Super Dad” will be donating to Children’s Miracle Network.
Caraway’s wealth of experience not just as a father but also as a mentor, coach and employee in the education industry have made him a popular candidate in the “Super Dad” campaign, but he might need the community’s help in getting through to the next round of just 10 contestants. The vote cutoff for advancing is Thursday, October 1, 2026.
“I strive to be the best dad I can be because one day my kids will face their own struggles without me there to guide them,” says Caraway on his contestant page. “If they can take what they learned from watching me persevere through my own life struggles and use it in their moments, I know they’ll be ready. I want them living with wisdom and integrity and becoming who they need to be for the next generation.”
The “Super Dad” prize package includes $25,000 in cash, and appearance in a nationwide Ace Hardware commercial; if he wins, Caraway says he’ll “finally” take the family to Disney, sock some money away for his kids’ savings, and maybe take an adventure the family never thought they’d be able to.
According to the “Super Dad” voting rules and schedule, after the Group Finals, Wildcard, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals (whew!), the winner will be announced on or before December 10.
