OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Severe weather brought with it some unwelcome events Monday afternoon.

Ocala Fire and Rescue answered the call for a tree that had fallen on top of a duplex on July 14. Ladder no. 3, Tower no. 3, Engine no. 5, Rescue no. 3, Battalion Chief 22 and a safety officer were dispatched to the scene at the 400 block of SE 15th Terrace, responding to reports of a confined space incident. The Ocala Building Department also responded.

The first to arrive on the scene were Battalion Chief 22 and Ladder 3, and they found a tree resting on top of a duplex, that was located at the corner of SE 15th Terrace and East Fort King St. Upon inspection it was found that most of the damage had impacted the rear of the dwelling.

Firefighters searched the premises for residents and found a man and a dog inside one of the units, both were unsettled but unharmed as a result of the tree falling.

When the uprooted tree came crashing down, along with another tree trunk that collapsed when the first tree fell, was found resting on a carport, with a vehicle trapped underneath, which damaged the rear of both units, including the bedrooms, living room and laundry areas.

No injuries were reported.
