MARION COUNTY, FL (352today)— In celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week and the upcoming America 250 anniversary, Ocala/Marion County is proud to unveil the winners of the “Find Your Freedom Here” postcard contest.
The contest invited community members to submit original photography and artwork capturing the spirit of the area. From 28 entries, the top eight finalists moved to a public vote last week that drew 498 participants.
The community response was so enthusiastic and the final voting so narrow that the top three designs will all be produced as official destination postcards. The winning images reflect the diverse beauty and local pride found throughout Ocala/Marion County:
- Winning Design: “Morning Blessings” by Sharon Santini
- Top 3 Winner: “Welcome to the Springs” by Karl Smith
- Top 3 Winner: “Built on Freedom” by Paula Bracho
All three designs will be printed as official postcards and made available for free at the Ocala/Marion County Visitor Center in downtown Ocala.
