OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Metro Catalyst Fund, Inc. (OMCF) has been awarded a $300,000 Technical Assistance grant by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 CDFI Program.

The grant will support OMCF’s mission to expand access to capital, foster community development, and empower entrepreneurship in underserved areas across the Ocala Metro region. As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, OMCF is focused on addressing financial barriers in communities like Marion Oaks, Silver Springs Shores, and West Ocala.

The IMCF indicated that the grant is a significant step toward creating a CDFI that will provide much-needed financial resources to entrepreneurs in the region’s majority-minority communities.

The funding will allow them to develop programs and initiatives that not only support small businesses but also promote economic growth and equity in historically underserved areas.
