OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The deadly shooting at Ocala’s Paddock Mall on the Saturday before Christmas has left countless people traumatized.

That’s why the Ocala Police Department (OPD) has requested the Florida Crisis Response Team (FCRT) to provide help to anyone suffering from the shooting.

FCRT will hold an informational session on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the police department’s Community Room which is located at 402 S Pine Ave.

OPD says the meeting is designed to help participants “understand their reactions to the tragedy, learn effective coping methods, and access local resources to help themselves and their loved ones.”

There will also be resources intended for children. OPD says Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection will be available during the session.

The meeting and services are free.

For more information, call OPD’s Victim Advocate Unit at 352-369-7139.
