OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Due to challenging weather conditions brought on by Hurricane Debby, the Ocala Police Department (OPD) has announced the rescheduling of its annual National Night Out event. Originally planned for August 6, the event will now be held on August 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lillian Bryant Park, located at 2200 NW 17th Pl. in Ocala.

This event is free and offers an opportunity for residents to connect with their neighbors and their local police officers. OPD says that visitors can expect a fun-filled evening with food, games, bounce houses, dancing, arts and crafts.

National Night Out is an annual community- building initiative aimed at fostering stronger police-community partnerships, reducing crime, and promoting drug prevention awareness. OPD says that by coming together, neighborhoods send a powerful message to criminals that they are united and committed to safety.
