OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Police Department (OPD) is investigating two separate shootings from Friday night that left one person dead and another injured.

According to police the shootings happened just blocks away and within an hour of each other.

Police say the first shooting happened around 7:15 p.m., officers responded to 2000 block of SW 4th St.

There they say they found an adult male shot with non-life-threatening injuries.

OPD says while officers were working that scene, another shooting took place in the 1900 block of SW 1st St., around 8:20 p.m.

At that location, police say they found a man dead from gunshot wounds. They identified him as 34-year-old McKenzie Roundtree.

Police say it is not clear if these two shootings are related in any way.
