OCALA, FL (325today.com) – Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan will be racing in the Preakness.

Ocala trainer Kenny McPeek announced on Saturday he has decided to run Mystik Dan in the $2 million Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18.

“Mystik Dan is well and acts like he’ll be ready to run in the Preakness,” said McPeek in a news release. “The colt’s had a good week. He will travel to Baltimore on Sunday.”

The Preakness is run at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland.

Mystik Dan won the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4, in a 3-way photo finish with jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. onboard. McPeek says Hernandez will be atop Mystik Dan again for the Preakness.

Mystik Dan got his early education at Silverleaf Hills training center in Ocala which McPeek purchased in 2019.
