MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – On Saturday, March 21, 2026, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Ryan Stith arrested Jennifer Michelle Gill (DOB: 09/18/1980) for attempted murder.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, MCSO deputies responded to a reported stabbing. They were informed that Gill had stabbed the 83-year-old victim multiple times with a knife and had fled the home. Deputies were able to locate Gill approximately 1.5 miles away and took her into custody. MCSO Major Crimes detectives then responded to continue the investigation.
During the investigation, Detective Stith learned that Gill entered the kitchen, where the victim was seated at the table, and grabbed a knife. She then sprayed the victim in the eyes with soapy water and began stabbing the victim. During an interview, Gill admitted to the stabbing and stated that she wished the knives had been sharper. Gill was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she is being held without bond.
