OCALA, FL (352today.com) — Community Stages is bringing the holiday spirit to Marion County with Christmas in Oz, a delightful 45-minute musical they call perfect for audiences of all ages.

Featuring a talented cast of young performers from the Trunk & Trek Troupe, the production combines festive songs, lively choreography, and a touching story that celebrates the true meaning of the season.

Directed by Terry LeCompte, with music direction by Greg Doss and choreography by DeNaya Wilkerson, the show reimagines Dorothy’s return to Oz.

In this enchanting tale by Val Cheatham, Dorothy and her friends—the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion—find the Emerald City closed for Christmas. Together, they embark on a mission to spread holiday cheer, even managing to warm the heart of the Wicked Witch with her first-ever Christmas present.

Performance Schedule:

  • Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. – The Appleton Museum of Art
  • Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. – Mary Sue Rich Community Center (in partnership with the Marion County Library System)
  • Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. – Heritage Nature Conservancy (outdoor performance)
