OCALA, FL (352today.com) – From the moment he picked up a bat at age four, Rowan Quartararo has been destined for greatness on the baseball diamond. His journey began humbly with the Ocala Sportsplex Giants tee-ball team, but it was clear even then that Quartararo’s connection to the game was something special.
At age five, Quartararo joined Belleview’s tee-ball team and earned a spot on the All-Star squad, competing in Sarasota against some of the state’s best young players. This experience ignited a fire in him that only grew stronger with time. By age six, he had transitioned to machine pitch with Ocala Rotary’s 8U B team, adapting quickly to the more competitive pace of the game.

Quartararo’s breakout moment came at age seven when he joined the 8U A team and hit his first over-the-fence home run, a milestone that solidified his love for baseball. Around this time, his father, Daniel Quartararo, founded the Ocala Fusion, a team that would become a cornerstone of Rowan’s development both as an athlete and a person.
By eight, Quartararo was competing at a high level with Ocala Rotary’s 8U A team, which claimed a regional championship and finished second in the state tournament. That season culminated in a World Series run in Laurinburg, North Carolina, where the team made it to the semifinals.
The transition to kid-pitch baseball at age nine came with challenges, including limited playing time due to blended family dynamics. Despite these obstacles, Quartararo persevered, showcasing his talent as a guest player for the Gainesville Legends. At age 11, after a period of limited competition, he reunited with his Fusion teammates, hitting three home runs in a single tournament—an unforgettable performance that underscored his potential.
As Quartararo grew older, his dedication to the sport became even more apparent. By ages 13 and 14, he was playing for the Ocala Snipers and training rigorously, even biking daily from school to the IAP training facility. His hard work paid off when he earned a spot on the varsity team as a freshman at North Marion High School.
That freshman season, Quartararo made an immediate impact, playing every game and hitting a grand slam against Vanguard High School with his grandfather and uncle in attendance. He ended the season with a .330 batting average, two home runs, and the satisfaction of surpassing his father’s high school home run record.

As a sophomore, Quartararo helped lead North Marion to its first-ever state championship, a historic achievement for Marion County public schools. His leadership on the field and consistent performance set him apart. By his junior year, he was named Player of the Year after pitching a complete game to secure the district title.
Now a senior, Quartararo future in baseball is bright. Committed to the College of Central Florida (CF), he stands poised to continue his journey at the collegiate level. His story is one of perseverance, passion, and a relentless drive to succeed—a testament to the rewards of hard work and dedication.
For Quartararo, the journey is far from over. With his talent and determination, the future holds endless possibilities for this rising star.
