LEVY COUNTY, FL (352Today.com) – Agents with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security arrested a registered sex offender in Youngstown, Ohio on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, and indicted him on charges related to his communications with a Levy County juvenile.

In April 2025, members of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children/Sex Offender unit received a complaint that a male had contacted an area juvenile via a popular social media platform and requested explicit images and sexual favors from him. The LCSO quickly identified the male as 26-year-old Ronald Newman, a registered sex offender from Youngstown, Ohio.

Due to the interstate nature of the allegations, the LCSO contacted the Department of Homeland Security for assistance. The case moved to a federal level, and on Oct. 7, the DoH executed an arrest warrant at Newman’s Ohio residence and indicted him on Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) charges as well as charges relating to violation of his status as a registered sex offender.

Newman is currently being held without bond in Ohio while authorities work on his transfer to Florida, where he will face the charges.
