OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Department of Transportation has announced it will be implementing overnight double lane closures “for an extended period” along a section of northbound Interstate 75 between the exits for County Roads 462 and 484, south of Ocala, starting this Sunday, Oct. 5.
Multiple lanes along this approximately 14-mile stretch of freeway will be closing as early as 7:30 p.m., and could remain out of use until 6 a.m. the following morning. The work, part of a 30-mile improvement project to add an auxiliary lane to the interstate in both directions between State Roads 44 to the south and 326 to the north, is expected to last through 2026.
Motorists are reminded to expect delays, follow posted speed limits and directional signage, and remain alert and attentive to the road while driving through the construction zone.
